Job Overview

As Tool Room Coordinator, you will perform duties to provide clean, sharp, and correctly measured cutting heads for Wood Processing and production.

 

Schedule: 6:00a.m. - 6:30p.m., Friday - Sunday

Highlights of your role

  • Review the production schedule and check the schedule for changes throughout the day. Identify previously completed setups by comparing previous shift schedules with current schedules. (ICIM)
  • Pull moulder and double-end tooling heads that are shown on the Bill of Materials on the schedule.
  • Verify tooling heads measure out correctly.
  • Place tooling heads on cart and deliver to proper machine.
  • Retrieve used and dirty heads from production.
  • Wash and clean tooling heads. Read out measurements of tooling after cleaning. Inspect for obvious nicks, dull spots or burnt-on pitch.
  • record measurements of tooling.
  • Calibrate read out stand.
  • Replace knives on tooling heads by removing, cutting new knives, grinding new knives, and install on tooling head. Use templates to ensure correct cutting profiles.
  • Rotate or replace inserts on tooling heads as needed. Use templates to ensure correct profiles.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • ICIM and computer experience.  
  • Detail-oriented and ability to drive for results. 
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings.  
  • Ability to work safely in a production environment around sharp tooling.  
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.  
  • Self-starter with desire to exceed or meet quality standards at all times.  
  • Ability to sharpen tooling or ability to learn.  
  • Knowledge of wood parts, quality specifications, and the ability to use and maintain precision measuring and testing equipment.

$19.75 -$26.50 per hour
